STAR's extended work experience programme places students with an employer for several days a week, to fit in with school studies.
Work placements have to be individually negotiated with employers and often depend on what is available at the time.
Placements include childcare centres, engineering, garages, hairdressing, offices and retail outlets.
Many of our students continue with the programme for several months.
They learn new skills, find out about the real world of work, and gain confidence and maturity.
