Most students find out about the STAR Project from their schools, through
the STAR Project Co-ordinator, a mentor or a Connexions Personal Adviser.
Students are provided with a letter and a booklet about the STAR Project to
read and take home to discuss with parents. The students can then take back
their prefered choice of programme and negotiate with their teachers.
The project includes three core elements:
- Taster courses - a day a week for 5 or 10 weeks - delivered by colleges and other training providers in a range of vocational areas
- extended work experience
- pre-apprenticeships
Select from the options on the right to find out more about these choices.
