Motor vehicles pre-apprenticeship
garages click to view A two-year part-time day release programme (3 hours per day minimum) in Motor Vehicle Repair & Maintenance.
The course is open to Year 10 students who should also be studying for a range of GCSEs with targeted grade Cs, preferably including Maths and English.

  • Purpose:
  • Prior learning that will ensure 'fast tracking' on entry at 16 years of age into work-based learning Modern Apprenticeship programmes.

  • Content:
  • Technical and practical in motor vehicle systems - operation and repair. Looking at construction, health & safety, engine systems and layout, electrical, and tyres, braking and mechanical, key skills.

    All learners will be partly accredited key skills that are mapped into the programme. This will leave little to follow on at entry into work-based learning for the Modern Apprenticeship framework.
