You
may think your work is not interesting enough, or you are only a small
company, but most of our placements are in small local businesses. Just
the experience of being in an adult workplace and learning to work with
others is a valuable learning opportunity for a student.
In
an office for instance, you might begin by offering the student simple
tasks like using office equipment such as a fax or photocopier. They could
attend meetings to observe what takes place, or interview members of staff
to find out more about the business and how the different departments
work together.
In
a shop they might work in the stockroom, or as a sales assistant, displaying
goods, helping customers, watch a training video or read a training manual.
The idea is for them to get experience of work and also an understanding
of how a business runs.
If
you would like guidance about what tasks a student could do in your business
please have a look here.
If
you would like to offer a work placement or need more information please
contact us.
We
will then get in touch with you to arrange a convenient time for a member
of our team to visit you to set up the placement.
