Health,
Safety
&
Work Experience
Under
Health and Safety Law, students are regarded as employees during their
work experience.
This
means that employers have the same responsibilities for the health,
safety and welfare of students as they do for their regular workforce.
In
addition they have to take into account the age and lack of experience
of the student.
At
Enfield Work Experience we take the following steps to help employers
ensure the safety of students:
1)
We arrange for a personal visit and risk assessment to be carried
out on every work placement (including those that students find for
themselves). We identify potential hazards and advise the employers
on what students may or may not do.
2)
We only accept work placements from employers who have Employers Liability
Insurance in place.
3)
We require all employers to begin their work placement with a Health
and Safety Induction for the student.
